Finally found the community!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I have been part of The COHORT for five weeks now, and I am having the time of my life.

There is something energising about finding yourself among creative, intelligent and respectful people who are committed to discovering, growing and strengthening their voices within their respective spaces.

It may have taken me five weeks to realise that this was the community Kopano had been talking about during our Saturday sessions. I kept wondering, “How does one become part of this community?” Then, finally, the penny dropped—I was already in it!

I love writing. Even my children know that when I walk around with an extra spring in my step, it usually means I have been writing.

Don’t get me wrong—I love what I do professionally. Working in communications means that I write all the time: emails, reports, press statements, newsletters, social media posts and responses to queries. Kuningi! It is exciting and fulfilling, but it is also the work that pays the bills and puts food on the table. Naturally, it comes with its own terms and conditions, rules, regulations and expectations.

Creative writing, however, gives me vooma!

It gives me the freedom to explore my thoughts, express my perspective and put my authentic voice into the world. Like Steve Biko, I write what I like—sharing my voice in the hope that it will find a place where it can land, connect with others and continue to grow.

Being part of The COHORT is teaching me that creativity can thrive alongside planning, discipline and structure. I am learning how to become more intentional about my writing and how to give my ideas the space they deserve.

I am thoroughly enjoying this journey—and I look forward to discovering where my voice will take me next.

Burnout: How to Reclaim Your Energy, Get Your Spark Back

Today, we’re going to be touching on a topic that’s very personal and close to my heart... burnout.

As women, we face this one a lot.

AND HERE'S THE THING... it doesn’t just arrive loudly and announce itself. It builds quietly. It creeps in through the long days, the pressure, the constant pushing, and before you know it, you feel like you’ve hit a wall and everything comes crashing down.

There is so much we have to understand about burnout, because it's not just about your body feeling drained, your mind feeling foggy, your emotions all over the place, and your spirit just… heavy. There is more.

Burnout is real, and it’s costing us more than we realise.

Today at Lunch&Learn, we’re sitting down with Thembi Thobela, burnout recovery coach and entrepreneur, to unpack what burnout really is, how it shows up, and how we can actually recover from it.

If you’ve been feeling off, if things have felt heavier than usual, or if you’re trying to find your way back to yourself…

Come sit with us.
